No Visa Required (NVR)

Eligibility

• All Bangladeshi origin Canadian citizens (up to second and third generations) along with their spouse (husband/wife) and children are eligible for the endorsement of “NVR” (No Visa Required) to Travel to Bangladesh.
  
• Bangladeshi origin citizens holding Passports other than Canada must submit proof of residence in Canada (PR Card/ Work Permit/ Study Permit/ non-tourist, any other types of resident visa, etc.)
  
• Foreign citizens having investment in Bangladesh worth USD Five (5) million is also eligible to receive NVR. Such applicants must submit a document issued by BIDA/ BEPZA/ BEZA in support of their application.

Required documents for completing the online application

• PDF copy of the filled-in Department of Immigration and Passport Visa Application Form generated from the Online MRV Application portal.
• 45mmX35mm recent photograph with white background (not older than 6 months)
• Copy of Canadian Passport / other foreign passport.
• Copy of Bangladeshi valid/ expired MRP/ ePassport or National ID or Online Birth Registration Certificate (BRC) or Citizenship Certificate issued by the Union Parishad or City Corporation in Bangladesh or NVR seal/ sticker on previous passports
  • In case of foreign spouse, any one of the above-mentioned documents of spouse of Bangladeshi origin and a photocopy of the marriage certificate as well as a notarized affidavit/ declaration on its unbroken status (sample affidavit form).
  • In case of child, any one of the above-mentioned proofs of Bangladeshi origin of at least one parent and the photocopy of birth certificate that contains the name of the parent of Bangladeshi origin.

Fees 

C$ 130.00 (Canadian Dollar one hundred thirty)

Payable by Bank Draft (in the name of “Bangladesh Consulate General in Toronto”/Money Order/Certified cheque or Online payment or to be paid in-person by Debit/Credit Card at the Consulate. No cash payment receives.

Validity

• The ‘No Visa Required’ is valid as long as the passport remains valid on which it is affixed.
• The person can enter Bangladesh as many times as he/she wishes and can stay there without any time restriction within the validity period of the passport.

Processing time

• 5 business days subject to submission of required documents.
• Note: There is no emergency service for NVR. If urgent, applicants may opt for visa-on-arrival at a port of entry to Bangladesh. Holding confirmed AIR TICKET would not be treated as an emergency.

• BDCGT Confirmation page 
• HARD COPY OF 45mmX35mm PHOTOGRAPH

All required documents above with BDCGT Confirmation page, proof of payment with a trackable return envelope. 

Delivery

The Consulate will email the applicant when the passport is ready for collection. Please bring delivery slip for collection.
