Bangladesh Consulate General, Toronto provides various CONSULAR SERVICES to expatriate Bangladeshis resident in Canada.

 The Consulate has Consular Jurisdiction over the following provinces of Canada:

Re-issue Machine-Readable (MRP) Passport



Eligibility

  • Bangladesh citizens with resident status in Canada and in possession of original Machine-Readable Passport. In case of loss of the original Bangladesh Passport, in possession of a lost passport police report.
  • MRP will be re-issued in cases of Expiration/Information Alteration/Correction of the current MRP or if the current MRP is unusable.
  • MRPs issued to minors below 6 years of age, could be reissued subject to appearance in person to the Consulate and submission of all required documents (cannot be renewed by post)
  • Applicants who have MRP/ old hand-written passport or do not have Bangladesh Passport yet are encouraged to apply for a 'New e-Passport, as the government is phasing out MRP passport. (see new e-passport section in the website)

 Payable by Bank Draft (in the name of “ Bangladesh Consulate General in Toronto ”/Money Order/Certified cheque or Online payment or to be paid in-person by Debit/Credit Card at the Consulate.

Processing time

(a) One to two months.

(Please note, sometimes MRP reissue takes unusually long time as the government is phasing out MRP. Some delay is expected and so please apply as early as possible. The Consulate cannot expedite the issuance.)


On the day of appointment, please bring with you

(a) Existing Machine-Readable Passport (MRP). [If by post, send to the Consulate General, old MRP will be returned to the applicant]

(b) BDCGT Confirmation page. 

 

If sent by post

All required documents above with BDCGT Confirmation page, proof of payment and a trackable return envelope. 

 

Delivery

The Consulate will email the applicant when the passport is ready for collection. Please bring delivery slip for collection.
