Mr. Nayem Uddin Ahmed

Consul General Nayem Uddin Ahmed is a career diplomat. He joined Bangladesh Foreign Service (BCS Foreign Affairs)  in 2001. Consul General Ahmed served as Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka; Third Secretary/Second Secretary/First Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Bangladesh to the UN Offices and other International Organisations in Geneva, Switzerland; First Secretary and Charge d’ Affaires a.i. at Bangladesh Embassy in Ankara, Turkey; Deputy Chief of Protocol (Visit and Protocol Policy) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka; Counsellor Political at Bangladesh Embassy in Washington D.C. Prior to joining as Bangladesh Consul General in Toronto he was Minister at Bangladesh High Commission in Ottawa, Canada.

Nayem Uddin Ahmed passed Secondary School Certificate (SSC) from Habiganj Government High School; Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) from Notre Dame College, Dhaka; Bachelor of Social Science (BSS) with Honours in International Relations and Master of Social Science (MSS) in International Relations from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.  

Before joining Bangladesh Foreign Service Nayem Uddin Ahmed worked with ANZ Grindlays Bank, Palli-Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) and Grameenphone Ltd. in Bangladesh.

Consul General Nayem Uddin Ahmed is the eldest son of Md. Giashuddin Ahmed- a veteran freedom fighter and retired Secretary of Bangladesh Government and Mrs Chemon Ara Ahmed (Renu). He was born on 5 December 1971; married to Dalia Parvin Ahmed and blessed with two daughters Muntaka Ahmed and Umayma Ahmed. His only younger brother is a career diplomat (Foreign Service Officer) serving in a Bangladesh Mission abroad.
